How do I join I Prefer Hotel Rewards?

You can join anytime online or at any participating property.

How much does it cost to join I Prefer Hotel Rewards?

There is no cost to join the program. Enroll here today to enjoy instant rewards, including exclusive member rates, points for future stays, and more at over 650 hotels around the world.

Do I receive I Prefer Member benefits if I sign up during a hotel stay?

If you enroll during check-in at a participating property, you will receive Silver tier benefits for your stay - with the exception of points. Only reservations that include an I Prefer  Member number prior to arrival are eligible to earn points.

How are tier levels earned?

You must earn 25,000 tier-qualifying points within a 12-month period to move from Silver to Gold tier. When you have earned 50,000 tier qualifying points within a 12-month period, you will move up to the Titanium tier.

You do not have to wait for your anniversary date to receive an upgrade. You will be moved up to the next tier when you reach the required points threshold.

How do I maintain my tier level?

You can maintain your tier level by reaching the same or higher point levels during the 12-month period following your tier upgrade. If you do not maintain the qualifying number of points during this time, you will be downgraded to either Silver or Gold status depending on how many points you have accumulated at the end of the 12-month period. 

What benefits do I receive as an I Prefer Member?

I moved up a tier with my current hotel stay. Do I receive the higher tier benefits on this stay?

Your benefits for a stay are based on the tier you are in when you check into the hotel. You may begin enjoying your new tier’s benefits on future stays.

I am a Gold/Titanium Member, and I noticed that I get a "Welcome Amenity". What is a Welcome Amenity?

Every participating I Prefer  hotel offers a Welcome Amenity to Gold and Titanium Members during their eligible stay. This amenity is unique for each hotel (I Prefer Terms and Conditions apply).

I am a Titanium Member and noticed that I get a "Food and Beverage Offering". What is a Food and Beverage Offering?

Participating I Prefer hotels will provide Titanium Members with a Food and Beverage offering during their eligible stay. This offering is unique for each hotel (I Prefer  Terms and Conditions apply).

Is my room upgrade guaranteed?

Room upgrades are based on availability at check-in.

How do you define “room upgrade”?

A room upgrade is based on availability at check-in and can include, but is not limited to, an upgrade to a higher floor, a room with a superior view, or a higher room category.

How do I arrange early check-in and/or late check-out?

Early check-in and/or late check-out are based on availability and/or property type. Please note that not all properties are able to provide upgrades or an early check-in and late check-out.

Account Management

I forgot my I Prefer password. How do I reset it?

On IPrefer.com, click on the "Login" button at the top-right corner of the site and then click on "Forgot Password?". You will be prompted to enter your email address to receive a password reset link.

How do I change the profile name on my I Prefer account?

If you would like to make an update to the name on your I Prefer account, you must provide us with legal documentation of the change. This is required to ensure your account remains secure. Examples of legal documentation include marriage certificates, valid driver's license, or valid passport. 

To provide us with this information, please complete the Contact Us form through the secure link at iprefer.com/contact-us. Select the "I Prefer Account & Access" option from the form's drop-down menu.

How do I merge two I Prefer accounts?

If you would like to merge two I Prefer Member Accounts, you may use this form for your request. Select the "I Prefer Account & Access" option from the form's drop-down menu. Please include the Member ID of both accounts and all relevant details.

Approval to complete the merge request may require legal documentation such as a valid driver's license or marriage certificate.

I wish to be removed from the program. How can I cancel my membership?

You may request to delete your I Prefer account by completing this form. You will be contacted to confirm the request for cancellation. Your Member profile will be deleted from our databasde and any I Prefer points balance will be forfeited upon membership cancellation.

Please allow up to seven business days to process this request.

Point Management

How do I earn points?

In order to earn points and other I Prefer Member benefits, you must include your I Prefer Member number in your reservation prior to check-in and book your stay at a participating property via one of the following channels:

  • IPrefer.com and associated Preferred Travel Group websites including PreferredHotels.com and StayBeyondGreen.com
  • Preferred Travel Group call centers
  • Hotel websites
  • Hotel direct bookings (e.g. phone bookings)
  • Travel agent bookings

Online travel channels or third-party channels are considered ineligible including, but not limited to Travelocity.com, Orbitz.com, Expedia.com, Booking.com, and Hotels.com.

How many points will I earn when I stay at a participating hotel?

At most properties, you will earn 10 base points for every USD 1 in eligible room spend, excluding taxes and charges, on eligible stays. For example, if you spend USD 100 per night for three nights, you will earn 3,000 points. Gold Members earn an additional 20% bonus points per eligible stay (12 points for every USD 1 in eligible room spend) and Titanium Members earn an additional 50% bonus points per eligible stay (15 points for every USD 1 in eligible room spend).

At select properties, you will earn 5 base points for every USD 1 of eligible room spend; see I Prefer Terms and Conditions for details.

Stays paid in non-US currency will be converted to USD at an exchange rate determined at the discretion of Preferred Travel Group.

I forgot to add my I Prefer Member ID to my reservation at the time of booking. How do I add it?

If you made your reservation directly with Preferred Travel Group (either through an associated website or call center), contact our Member support line at +1 877 497-6976 (toll free in the United States) or +1 314 900-1482 (worldwide) to add your Member ID to your reservation.

If you made your reservation directly with the hotel or via another channel, contact the hotel and ask them to include your Member ID in the reservation prior to arrival.

Can I earn points for non-room charges, such as dining in the hotel restaurant?

Some hotels may offer additional earning opportunities including spa, restaurant, gift shop, and resort charges. However, this is at the discretion of the hotel and is not automatically included in program points earning.

Do I earn points for a hotel’s own loyalty program in addition to my I Prefer points?

You will earn I Prefer points and benefits for every eligible stay at participating hotels. It is at the discretion of each hotel to extend benefits from other hotel loyalty programs they may offer.

Are my past stays eligible for points?

A Missing Points Request can be submitted for stays within the past six (6) months, as long as your Membership was active prior to the stay. To submit a request, please select and complete the "Missing Points Request" form from the drop-down menu here.

Are my past stays prior to joining I Prefer Hotel Rewards eligible for points?

I Prefer points will not be awarded for stays prior to Member enrollment.

Do points expire?

Yes, points will expire after 24 months of membership inactivity. Activity is defined as an eligible stay or reward points redemption. You will forfeit your current balance when your points expire and you will be downgraded to the appropriate tier based on your new points balance.

How do I check my points balance and tier level?

Log in to your account at IPrefer.com. Your points balance and tier level will be visible on your Member dashboard. Your point balance and tier level will also be included in all emails you receive from I Prefer Hotel Rewards.

How do I use my points?

You can redeem points for cash-value Reward Certificates, which are accepted for payment against room charges at any participating I Prefer property. Some hotels may also accept I Prefer Reward Certificates for payment toward spa, restaurant, gift shop, and resort charges, but this is at the discretion of the hotel, and acceptance is not guaranteed. See Reward Certificate Terms & Conditions for more details.

During the booking process, if a participating hotel has availability, you can select to redeem your points for Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus (points plus cash). Simply log in to your member account here and make your stay selection.

I booked a stay at a hotel that is no longer a participating I Prefer hotel. Will I still earn points and receive other membership benefits?

You will only earn points and receive membership benefits at hotels that are currently participating at the time of your stay, regardless of their participation status when you made your reservation.

I do not see points in my account for a recent stay. How do I get credit for missing points?

Prior to submitting a request, please allow up to seven (7) days after departure for points to post to your account.

To submit a request for points for eligible stays, you may complete this form by choosing "Missing Points Requests" from the drop-down menu. You must include an electronic copy of your final itemized hotel folio reflecting the charges for which you are claiming points. Points requests will not be reviewed until a final bill has been attached. Credit card statements, confirmation letters, or non-itemized folios will not be accepted.

Please note that some rates and/or reservations (such as complimentary or barter stays, employee/industry/airline crew rates, group rates, wholesale/tour operator rates, reservations paid for with wholesale vouchers or airline vouchers, and canceled/no-show bookings may not be eligible for I Prefer points. In addition, participating hotels may also exclude certain rates from earning I Prefer points (e.g., corporate and/or negotiated rates). For a list of eligible booking channels, please visit the Earning I Prefer points section of the I Prefer Program Terms and Conditions.

How do I transfer points between two accounts?

If you would like to transfer points between two I Prefer accounts, you may use this form for your request. Please select the "I Prefer Account & Access" from the drop-down menu and include the following information for both accounts: Member ID, full name, email address, and the number of points to transfer. Additional verification and documentation may be required prior to approval of the transfer request. Please note, points provided as a bonus from I Prefer Hotel Rewards may not be eligible for transfer.

Reward Nights

What are Reward Nights and Reward Nights Plus?

A Reward Night is a room night that I Prefer Members can book (subject to availability) using points currently available in their I Prefer Member account.

A Reward Night Plus is a room night that I Prefer Members can book (subject to availability) using a combingation of points currently available in their I Prefer Member account plus a cash amount. 

How many points must I redeem for a Reward Night or Reward Nights Plus stay?

The number of points required per night varies by participating property and length of stay. Please refer to I Prefer Reward Nights and I Prefer Reward Nights Plus under "Special Offers" for more information.

How do I redeem my points for Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus?

Log into your account at IPrefer.com. Navigate to “My Account” and click on “Redeem”. From here you will be able to explore properties participating in Reward Nights (points only) and Reward Nights Plus (points plus cash). Reward Night rooms are subject to availability at the time of reservation. Your available points balance will be displayed to confirm whether you have sufficient points to book the Reward Nights stay. If you have enough points and the room is available for your stay, click “Book Now” to proceed to checkout. You will be required to enter credit card details to guarantee the reservation. Upon confirmation, the total points for the free nights will be deducted automatically from your account.

What if I don’t have enough points to book a Reward Night?

Your current points balance will need to cover the full length of stay. If your points balance does not cover the full length of your stay, you will need to select and book a separate cash rate for the remaining nights. Alternatively, you can book a Reward Nights Plus stay using a combination of cash and points.

What kind of rooms are available for Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus?

Room types available at participating properties are typically single or double-bed, standard rooms.

Can I book a Reward Night for a friend or family member?

A Reward Nights booking is valid only for use by the Member from whose account the redemption is processed and is not transferable.

Do I have to provide or do anything additional outside of the normal check-in procedure for my Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus stay?

No. The nights you booked with points are effectively pre-paid other than resort taxes and/or additional fees that may apply.

Will there be extra fees for my stay?

Based on the property, the Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus points redemption may not include room tax/service charges and extra-person charges, if any. Other charges, including incidentals and resort fees, are not included in the award stay booking and will be your responsibility upon check-out.

Will I earn points for a stay booked with Reward Nights?

No, you will not earn I Prefer points for any portion of a stay booked with Reward Nights.

Will I earn points for a stay booked with Reward Nights Plus?

Only the cash portion of a Reward Nights Plus stay is eligible for points earning.

Will I receive Member stay benefits for Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus stays??

Yes, Member stay benefits will be delivered for a Reward Nights or Reward Nights Plus stay, respective to your tier level.

How can I make a change to my Reward Night reservation?

To make any changes, you will need to cancel your reservation and re-book.

What if I need to cancel a Reward Night or Reward Night Plus stay?

Standard cancellation policies of the participating hotel will apply. If you do not cancel within the hotel’s permitted cancellation period, the hotel will charge the applicable cancellation fee to the credit card used to guarantee the booking and the I Prefer  points redeemed for the stay will be re-deposited into your account. If you do not cancel your stay and are a no-show, the hotel will charge the applicable cancellation fee to your credit card and your points may not be re-deposited into your account.

Reward Certificates

How do I redeem my points for Reward Certificates?

Log in to your account at IPrefer.com. Navigate to "My Account" and click on "Redeem". Scroll down to "Redeem For A Reward Certificate" and choose the amount for which you would like to redeem points, provided your point balance qualifies for the redemption amount you select. Please note your Member profile must contain complete address information before you can complete a Reward Certificate order. Go to "Profile & Preferences" to update your address if prompted.

How do I receive my Reward Certificate?

Your Reward Certificate will be delivered via email and will contain a unique, secure code. Simply print the Reward Certificate or present it on your smartphone at a participating hotel for verification and acceptance.

In what currencies and denominations are Reward Certificates available?

Reward Certificates are available in the following currencies and denominations:

  • USD/GBP/EUR 25
  • USD/GBP/EUR 50
  • USD/GBP/EUR 100
  • USD/GBP/EUR 250
  • USD/GBP/EUR 500

How should I present my Reward Certificate to a participating hotel?

You may present your Reward Certificate to the hotel as a printed copy or digitally. To facilitate acceptance, it is suggested that you advise the hotel at the time of check-in if you plan to use a Reward Certificate during your stay.

To view or download your Reward Certificate, log into your account at IPrefer.com. Navigate to “My Account” and click on “Activity”. Filter by “Reward Certificate” and select the Reward Certificate you would like to use. You may present the Reward Certificate from your device or a downloaded copy of the certificate at check-in.

Can I give my Reward Certificate to a friend or family member?

Yes, I Prefer Reward Certificates may be gifted to friends and family.

Will I receive a refund if I do not use the full face value of my Reward Certificate?

No. I Prefer Reward Certificates are valid at the full value amount only.

I am traveling to a country that uses a different currency than my Reward Certificate currency. Will the hotel accept it?

Yes, the hotel will convert it at an exchange rate of their discretion and apply the converted amount to your outstanding charges.

The hotel I booked was a participating I Prefer hotel when I made the reservation, but now they are not. Can I still use a Reward Certificate at that hotel?

No, Reward Certificates can only be used at hotels actively participating in the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program at time of stay.

Do Reward Certificates expire?

Yes, I Prefer Reward Certificates have an expiration date. Please refer to your certificate to view the expiration date. 

I have lost the original email containing my Reward Certificate. How do I request a new email or reprint my Certificate?

If the Reward Certificate has not been used or canceled, log into your account at IPrefer.com. Navigate to "My Account" and click on "Activity". Filter by "Reward Certificate" and select the Reward Certificate in question to download a new certificate.

Log into your account at IPrefer.com. Navigate to "My Account" then "Dashboard" to videw your Upcoming Trips. Reservations and changes to reservations may take up 48 hours to display in your account.

How can I modify my reservation?

You may modify a reservation made through an eligible booking channel here. You will need your Confirmation Number and the email address associated with the reservation.

Can you help with hotel specific requests?

For hotel specific questions or requests, please contact the hotel directly.
